Clinical Application
Designed to provide controlled compression of uterine tissue, this instrument is used to achieve hemostasis and traction during gynecologic and obstetric procedures. Common applications include vaginal and abdominal hysterectomy, uterine repair, and management of postpartum bleeding where broad, atraumatic compression of the uterine corpus is required.
Design & Configuration
The broad paddle-style jaws distribute pressure over a larger surface area than narrow hemostats, reducing focal tissue injury while delivering effective compression. Fenestration in the jaws improves grip on soft uterine tissue without penetrating it. A ratchet lock permits sustained compression without continuous manual force, and the overall length provides adequate reach into the pelvic cavity while maintaining control and tactile feedback.
