Clinical Application
Provides controlled mechanical dilation of the cervical canal to permit safe access to the uterine cavity. Commonly used during dilatation and curettage, office or operative hysteroscopy, IUD insertion or other gynecologic procedures that require progressive cervical enlargement. The 5 mm and 6 mm diameters are appropriate for initial dilation or for patients requiring minimal to moderate dilation.
Design & Configuration
The double-ended configuration places two sequential Hegar sizes on a single instrument, reducing instrument changes and procedure time. Each end tapers to a smooth cylindrical profile to facilitate atraumatic, incremental dilation while maintaining tactile feedback for the operator. The polished surface reduces friction during insertion and withdrawal, helping minimize cervical trauma.
