Clinical Application
Designed for urologic stone retrieval, this long-shank forceps is used to grasp and remove renal, ureteral and bladder calculi and small intraluminal foreign bodies. Its reach and jaw configuration facilitate secure capture of irregular or hard fragments during open, percutaneous or limited-access urologic procedures where manual retrieval is required.
Design & Configuration
The extended 22 cm working length provides reach into the renal pelvis and ureter while maintaining surgeon control from outside the wound or sheath. Ring handles and a ratcheting mechanism allow secure closure and progressive grip force. The Figure 4 jaw pattern is arranged to centralize and stabilize small, irregular fragments for extraction while minimizing slippage during withdrawal.
