Clinical Application
Designed for controlled retrieval of foreign bodies and loose material from the upper aerodigestive tract. The 30 cm shaft provides reach for procedures involving direct laryngoscopy, rigid bronchoscopy, and ENT airway interventions, enabling removal of aspirated objects, food boluses, and small obstructing items in adult patients. The instrument is useful in diagnostic and therapeutic airway work where a precise, secure grasp is required without excessive distal bulk.
Design & Configuration
The long, slender shaft lets the operator access the larynx and proximal lower airway while maintaining a clear line of sight through laryngoscopic or bronchoscopic exposure. The Fig.4 pattern is a classic Chevalier Jackson retrieval geometry engineered to provide a balanced grip on small, irregular objects while minimizing soft-tissue trauma. The rigid construction transmits tactile feedback to the operator for controlled manipulation and withdrawal.
