Clinical Application
This curette is designed for removal of adenoid tissue during adenoidectomy procedures. The instrument's dimensions and curette head size are intended to facilitate controlled excision of nasopharyngeal lymphoid tissue via a transoral approach and can be used in both conventional blind curettage and procedures assisted by endoscopic visualization. It is suitable for use in pediatric and adult cases where precise scraping and scooping of tissue from the adenoid bed is required.
Design & Configuration
The long 22 cm shaft provides reach into the nasopharynx while keeping the surgeon's hand clear of the oral cavity, improving access and control during deep resection. The 17 mm curette tip offers a balance between tissue capture and maneuverability—large enough to remove bulk tissue efficiently but sized to allow targeted curettage around critical structures. The Beckmann Fig.2 profile is a standard surgical pattern that facilitates alignment with the nasopharyngeal curvature for effective scraping and scooping motions.
