Clinical Application
Designed for controlled curettage of the maxillary antrum, this instrument is used to remove diseased mucosa, granulation tissue, polyps or foreign material during sinonasal and antral procedures. Common applications include antral washout and debridement during Caldwell‑Luc or other maxillary sinus access procedures where precise scraping of the antral lining is required.
Design & Configuration
The Fig. 4 curvature provides an angulation intended to improve access to the posterior and lateral walls of the maxillary antrum while maintaining a comfortable working distance from the operative field. The spoon-shaped curette tip concentrates scraping force at the cutting edge for effective tissue removal with tactile feedback, and the 17 cm overall length supplies the reach needed for deeper antral work without excessive instrument bulk.
