Clinical Application
This up-cut antrum punch is designed for controlled coring and excision of soft tissue and small amounts of bone in the maxillary antrum during sinonasal and oral–maxillofacial procedures. The 2.5 mm bite provides a conservative, incremental removal profile that helps surgeons create or enlarge an antral ostium, take targeted tissue samples, or remove small bony bridges with tactile feedback appropriate for confined anatomical spaces.
Design & Configuration
The up-cut (up cutting) jaw geometry cuts on the upward stroke, which facilitates predictable engagement of tissue and reduces the tendency to drag or snag mucosa. The small 2.5 mm bite allows precise, controlled bites for staged enlargement and minimizes collateral trauma compared with larger punches. The punch's coring action is suited to tight working angles encountered in endonasal and intraoral approaches.
