Clinical Application
Designed for controlled removal and sculpting of laminar and cortical bone during laminectomy and other posterior spinal decompression procedures. The down-curved biting tip permits approach under the lamina and around the dural sac to excise bone and soft tissue in confined corridors while minimizing retraction of neural elements. Useful to spine surgeons, neurosurgeons and OR teams for targeted morselization and bone nibbling during decompression and foraminotomy.
Design & Configuration
The down-curved ("down") geometry aligns the tip with posterior spinal anatomy, improving line-of-sight and access beneath the lamina and facets. A 2x10 mm bite provides a predictable, moderate volume per bite for precise tissue removal without excessive bone loss. The 18 cm overall length balances reach into the surgical field with tactile feedback and mechanical advantage at the working tip, helping the surgeon control bite depth and orientation in narrow operative corridors.
