Clinical Application
Designed for ENT procedures involving pedunculated intranasal tissue, this non-cutting snare is used to encircle and capture polyps, mucosal tags, or other small pedunculated lesions for traction and controlled avulsion or excision under direct vision or endoscopic guidance. It is commonly used in clinic-based polypectomy, office procedures, and operating-room functional endoscopic sinus surgery when a slender instrument is required for working within the nasal cavity.
Design & Configuration
The single-loop, non-cutting configuration allows the operator to pass the loop around the lesion and tighten gradually using the ring/slider handle for precise control of traction. The slender rigid shaft provides access through nostrils and narrow intranasal corridors with minimal obstruction of the endoscopic view. Because the loop is non-cutting, the technique relies on controlled traction and shearing at the lesion base rather than a cutting wire, which can be advantageous for removing fragile or pedunculated tissue while minimizing inadvertent scoring of surrounding mucosa.
