Clinical Application
Provides atraumatic access and direct visualization of the external auditory canal and tympanic membrane for diagnostic examination and minor aural procedures. The graduated set allows selection of an appropriately sized speculum to improve viewing angle, support instrumentation for cerumen removal or microsuction, and assist otologic procedures performed in clinic, ambulatory surgery centers, or ENT suites.
Design & Configuration
The Erhardt pattern features a tapered, funnel-shaped tip that centers the viewing axis and gently dilates the canal for improved visibility. A graduated set of three sizes (4.5 mm–6.5 mm) enables progressive selection for narrow to wider canals, reducing the need for repeated exchanges during a procedure. Smooth, rounded rims minimize tissue trauma during insertion and manipulation.
