Clinical Application
This curved bronchus clamp is designed to provide controlled temporary occlusion of bronchial structures during thoracic procedures. It is used to isolate and control the airway during resections (e.g., lobectomy, pneumonectomy), bronchoplasty, bronchotomy repair and other open thoracic surgeries where secure, atraumatic occlusion of the bronchus is required to facilitate suturing, stapling or resection.
Design & Configuration
The curved geometry allows the jaws to approach the bronchus from an oblique angle, improving access around adjacent vascular and pulmonary structures in the thoracic cavity. At 24 cm overall length, the instrument provides extended reach into the chest while preserving hand control at the proximal handles. A locking ratchet provides reproducible occlusion force so the surgeon can maintain tissue apposition without continuous manual pressure.
Instrument Specifications
