Clinical Application

This clamp is intended to provide temporary, reliable occlusion of the aorta and other large-caliber vessels during cardiac, vascular and thoracoabdominal procedures. It is used for proximal control during coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), aortic repair, aneurysm exposure and other operative steps where a secure, bloodless field and atraumatic handling of the vessel are required. The multi-purpose geometry supports use in variable anatomic approaches and retractor configurations.

The instrument features a multi-purpose Cooley pattern geometry that balances reach, jaw surface area and tactile control. A ratchet locking mechanism enables progressively secure closure and hands-free maintenance of occlusion. Broad occluding jaws distribute compressive force over a larger area of the vessel wall to reduce focal pressure and help minimize intimal injury while producing effective hemostasis.
