Clinical Application
Designed for controlled partial occlusion of the inferior vena cava and other large-caliber veins, this atraumatic Satinsky clamp enables surgeons to isolate a segment of a major vessel while preserving distal flow and minimizing endothelial trauma. Common applications include vascular repair and reconstruction, mobilization and control of the vena cava during oncologic liver resections or thrombectomy, and cardiothoracic procedures that require temporary side-biting occlusion of large veins.
Design & Configuration
The side-biting, partial-occluding geometry permits secure control of a portion of the vessel circumference while maintaining perfusion through the uninvolved lumen. Atraumatic, broad jaws distribute clamping force over a larger surface area to reduce intimal injury during prolonged occlusion. The 24 cm overall length provides extended reach for procedures in deep or confined operative fields, allowing the surgeon to apply and lock the clamp at a distance from the operative site without compromising tactile control.
