Clinical Application
This left-oriented bone curette is designed for controlled scraping, scooping, and debridement of cortical and cancellous bone. It is used to remove necrotic bone, shape bone margins, and obtain small bone samples or graft material in procedures where precise, tactile bone work is required — for example in orthopedic revisions, spine and neurosurgical exposure, ENT work in confined cavities, and oral/maxillofacial surgery. The left orientation allows access to lateral or contralateral surfaces without awkward instrument rotation.
Design & Configuration
The Fig.6 geometry provides a defined scoop profile with a left-facing cutting face that concentrates force at the working edge for efficient bone removal while preserving tactile feedback. The 16 cm overall length balances reach and control: long enough to access deeper operative sites while remaining manageable in limited-space exposures. The left-curved configuration helps maintain an ergonomic wrist position and provides a natural scraping motion along lateral bone contours.
