Clinical Application

This straight bone curette is intended for controlled scraping and debridement of bone and calcified tissue in open surgical procedures. It is used to remove necrotic bone, shape cortical surfaces, prepare bone beds for grafting or implants, and to harvest small amounts of cancellous bone. Common clinical settings include orthopedics, trauma, hand and foot surgery, oral & maxillofacial procedures, and ENT where precise, manual curettage is required.

Design & Configuration

The straight 16 cm shaft provides extended reach with a direct axial line of action, enabling tactile feedback and precise force transmission from surgeon to tip. The scoop-shaped working end concentrates scraping force onto a small edge for efficient debridement and contouring in confined or deep operative fields. The straight geometry is preferred when a direct approach, visual access, and straightforward instrument control are required.
