Clinical Application
Designed for percutaneous skeletal fixation and temporary stabilization in orthopedic and trauma procedures. The instrument is intended for insertion as a K‑wire for fracture pinning, provisional fixation, skeletal traction, and other applications where a slender, rigid pin is required for small‑bone or soft‑tissue‑sparing access (e.g., hand, wrist, foot, and select pediatric indications). It can also be used as a guide or provisional pin during fixation with cannulated implants when a solid trocar pin is preferred for initial placement.
Design & Configuration
The trocar point profile facilitates efficient cortical penetration with a controlled entry angle, reducing the need for excessive axial force and minimizing cortical chatter. The round‑end geometry at the distal profile provides a balance between sharp penetration and resistance to tip deformation during advancement, aiding in predictable placement and improved tactile feedback. The straight, slender shaft enables percutaneous insertion through minimal soft tissue corridors and allows for accurate, fluoroscopically guided positioning.
Instrument Specifications
- Instrument type: Kirschner wire trocar (K‑wire trocar)
- Pattern / model: Trocar point, round end
- Configuration: Trocar‑tipped percutaneous pin
- Length / size: 2.2 x 160 mm
- Tip pattern: Trocar point with round end geometry
- Typical use: Percutaneous fixation, provisional pinning, skeletal traction
- Material: Surgical‑grade stainless steel
Material & Construction
Manufactured from surgical‑grade stainless steel to provide the strength and corrosion resistance required for orthopedic pinning applications. The trocar tip is ground to a geometry suitable for cortical penetration while the shaft maintains the rigidity needed to resist bending during insertion.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
