Clinical Application
Provides percutaneous skeletal fixation and provisional stabilization in a range of orthopedic procedures. The trocar point geometry facilitates direct cortical penetration for pinning of small bones (phalanges, metacarpals, metatarsals), wrist and foot applications, and temporary transfixation during reduction and internal fixation. Common uses include fracture pinning, K-wire fixation for fracture fragments, and temporary stabilization during external fixation or soft-tissue procedures.
Design & Configuration
The trocar point tip concentrates axial force on a sharp, three-sided profile to aid entry through cortical bone with reduced skiving and controlled trajectory. A smooth, solid shank minimizes soft-tissue drag and allows easy advancement or removal percutaneously. The 310 mm length provides reach for deeper or bilateral applications and offers material for intraoperative trimming and bending when needed for custom fixation constructs.
