Clinical Application

This manual T-handle with a keyed Jacobs chuck is used when controlled, low-speed manual rotation of small round-shank instruments is required. Common intraoperative uses include insertion and advancement of K-wires and small pins, hand-driven drilling with round-shank drill bits, and holding or adjusting small instruments in orthopedics, hand surgery, ENT, dental and other specialties where fine manual torque and tactile feedback are needed.

Design & Configuration

The T-handle provides a two-handed grip geometry that maximizes manual torque and tactile control while minimizing operator fatigue. The integrated keyed Jacobs chuck secures round-shank instruments using a three-jaw mechanism tightened with the supplied key, reducing slippage and axial play. This combination allows precise rotational control for placement, advancement or removal of small pins and bits when power instrumentation is impractical or contraindicated.
