Clinical Application
Designed to carry and secure a small cotton pledget for controlled topical delivery, absorption, or gentle pressure in confined areas. Commonly used to apply antiseptics, topical anesthetics, or hemostatic agents; to perform targeted blotting of blood or exudate; and for packing or probing small cavities in ENT, ophthalmic, dental and minor surgical procedures. The threaded retention feature reduces slippage of the cotton during insertion, manipulation, and removal.
Design & Configuration
The threaded retention tip allows a standard cotton pledget to be screwed onto the shaft, providing a secure attachment that minimizes shedding and displacement compared with plain-tip applicators. The 14 cm shaft length offers sufficient reach for access into shallow-to-moderate depth cavities while preserving tactile control at the proximal end. The straight shaft and fixed retention geometry permit precise placement and retrieval of the cotton without the need for additional instruments.
