Clinical Application
This buttoned, double-ended probe is intended for atraumatic probing and exploration of lumens, sinus or fistula tracts, ducts, and wound cavities. Its rounded (buttoned) tip minimizes tissue snagging and allows the surgeon to assess patency, follow the course of a tract, guide suture placement, or dilate small channels during procedures in ENT, general surgery, urology, plastic/reconstructive and other surgical settings.
Design & Configuration
The double-ended configuration offers immediate access to a buttoned tip from either orientation, reducing instrument exchanges. The 2 mm rounded button distributes contact pressure over a small, blunt surface to reduce mucosal and soft-tissue trauma while permitting tactile feedback to the operator. The 16 cm overall length provides reach into deeper cavities or sinuses without excessive shaft bulk, facilitating controlled navigation and manipulation in confined operative fields.
