Clinical Application
Designed for atraumatic exploration and tract assessment, this buttoned probe with an integrated eye and flat 2 mm tip is used to safely negotiate sinus tracts, fistulae, small ducts and confined cavities. The blunt, rounded ('buttoned') tip minimizes tissue trauma and reduces the risk of creating false passages, while the eye permits passage of suture, ligature, fine guidewire, or marking thread for subsequent instrumentation or excision.
Design & Configuration
The flat, buttoned tip provides a broad, blunt contact surface that improves tactile feedback during palpation and probing and disperses point pressure to protect adjacent tissue. The incorporated eye positioned proximal to the tip allows controlled threading of monofilament or guide material without requiring a separate needle. A 12.5 cm working length offers reach into superficial to moderately deep tracts while remaining manageable on instrument trays and in single-handed use.
Instrument Specifications
