Clinical Application

Pean-style hemostatic forceps are used to grasp, compress and reliably occlude blood vessels or tissue bundles during hemostasis and tissue dissection. The straight configuration and 16 cm length provide direct control for general, abdominal and soft-tissue procedures where secure clamping of medium-to-large caliber vessels is required. They are used for temporary or preparatory vessel control, blunt tissue dissection, and to hold sutures or swaged needles when needed.

Design & Configuration

The straight geometry gives a direct, in-line approach to vessels and tissues, enhancing tactile feedback and precise tip apposition. Pean-style jaws feature longitudinal serrations that distribute clamping force across the surface for a secure, atraumatic hold on soft tissue and vessels. Ring handles with a ratchet locking mechanism allow incremental closure and sustained occlusion without continuous manual pressure. The 16 cm length balances reach and control for both open procedures and deeper fields.
