Clinical Application
Curved Mayo scissors are intended for controlled cutting and blunt dissection of relatively dense soft tissue such as fascia, connective tissue, and muscle during general, gynecologic, plastic and many soft-tissue procedures. The curved blade profile directs the cutting edge into the wound plane, allowing the operator to follow tissue contours and perform precise intraoperative division of tissue and sutures.
Design & Configuration
The curved blade geometry provides improved visibility and access when working in deeper or confined operative fields compared with straight patterns. A 14.5 cm overall length balances reach and tactile control, permitting fine manipulation close to the tips while retaining sufficient shaft to reach deeper layers. The ergonomics and blade alignment are configured to deliver consistent shearing action for efficient cutting of tougher tissue planes.
