Clinical Application
Designed for blunt dissection and ligature handling in confined or deep surgical fields, this Overholt diss. and ligature forceps is used to isolate vessels, pass suture or ligature material around structures, and create working tunnels in soft tissue. Common applications include general surgery, vascular, gynecologic, urologic and ENT procedures where precise, controlled manipulation is required through a small incision or narrow corridor.
Design & Configuration
The long‑shank geometry and slim profile provide extended reach into deep pockets while minimizing tissue exposure at the skin level. Ring handles with a ratchet locking mechanism enable secure maintenance of grip or occlusion without continuous manual pressure, facilitating controlled ligature placement. The Fig. 2 jaw pattern is arranged to support atraumatic blunt dissection and to reliably capture and guide ligature material during tying or transfer.
